St Giles-in-the-Fields
St Giles-in-the-Fields
The church's original foundation in 1101 was for a Leper hospital and chapel, which was known as the St Giles Hospital - St Giles being the patron saint of outcasts (ie the saint has a special concern for the care of those separated from the community). The church was built in the Palladian style in 1734.
